Our neighborhood park has an equine park attached to it, so I brought the long telephoto lens that I had gotten for Christmas to take photos of the horses. When my mom and I arrived, we found most of the horses far out in their pastures, grazing. Still, with the telephoto lens, I managed to get some good photos. We traveled to the next pasture, where we found some horses near the fence. I got even better photos of them. I love horses (I love all animals, really), so when two horses came up to the fence to say hello, I enjoyed petting them. We went back to the first pasture one last time just to make sure that no horses had changed their minds about coming closer to the fence, and sure enough, a pretty black- and-white horse was walking elegantly across the field. Then it just stopped and posed for a full five minutes before wandering off. What a nice trip!

In the early days of my photography I started taking photos of my dog, Blizzy. Blizzy is an adorable husky puppy, so I take photos of her a lot. She's sassy and cute and a pretty perfect model. However, I got an idea one day to do a different kind of photo. My idea was a close-up of Blizzy's eye- but as a twist, I took it in black and white. I took lots more of these and my family and I always call Blizzy a baby wolf, so I referred to this first set of photos as the Wolf Series. The Wolf Series expanded from just Blizzy's eyes. It grew to include her nose, ears, and paws as well. The black and white twist makes the photos look even more unique, and it really showcases her personality. It's so fun!

My dog Blizzy, which is short for Blizzard, turned one recently! Blizzy is a very, very sassy husky pup. She has a very energetic spirit, and is so adorable. She is quite a bit demanding, and, being a husky, she's quite loud! She screeches A LOT. However, she is a very pretty and adorable dog and I love photographing her. Unfortunately, I've only been photographing her since this summer and I wish I had discovered my passion for photography last winter when she was a puppy. She loves to be outside, so that's usually where I photograph her. She is not really an easy model to work with, though, because she is so bouncy, excitable, and stubborn. She does what she wants, when she wants to. She never sits still. Because of her tendency to not listen or behave, a lot of my photos of her are candid snaps. Still, when she does listen and behaves well, she is a beautiful model to work with! I love taking photos of her at sunset especially, because she has so much fluff that all the glow bounces off her long fur, making it seem even longer. I love her very much and she is one of my best models. Happy birthday, Blizzy!
